No fewer than twenty (20) individuals were awarded scholarship at the last Graduate Train to Placement Program (GT2P) of Toque Academy.
GT2P was initiated to help solve some of the problems of the Nigerian IT and telecoms sector which includes; extremely low availability of Skilled Human Capital, poor quality graduates churned out by the Nigerian tertiary institutions that do not usually have the required practical ICT skills and employers having to constantly retain graduates and/or employing expatriates.
These problems are being solved by GT2P program by employing the following means;
- Concentrated training programs for graduates/professionals to find employment or enhance their careers in Telecoms and IT sector
- Providing employers with required skills to move their organisations and the Nigerian ICT industry forward.
The GT2P program has a number of components which are aimed at solving these problems. These components can be broadly categories into Annual stakeholders' forum, Bank Loans for ICT trainings - Individuals and Employers, Technical training & placements (Internships & Full time employment), Scholarships and training funds in partnership with Industry employers & Donor organisations for talented and unemployed graduates and other initiatives to foster local content development.
GT2P program is organised by Torque academy in partnership with BankPHB, People Prime and Orange Academy. Torque Academy, which is an arm of Torque Technologies, is an ICT and Project Management training solutions provider. While Torque Technologies is an ICT company with a bias in Telecoms and Networks Solutions
